With its Wireless Distribution System (WDS) function, WA540G acts as a wireless AP and repeater at the same time.  This feature can increase the wireless coverage area by utilizing multiple WA540Gs to build up a large wireless network in large spaces like airports, hotels and schools, etc...  In addition, this feature can also be utilized when connecting segments of networks between buildings where it's impossible to deploy network cables.

WA540G also features built-in 5-port 10/100 switch for additional wired network connection.  This unique feature supports wired network devices to co-exist with the wireless devices.   

WA540G has a built-in RADIUS server that can provide EAP-MD5 authentication for extra security.
In addition to the ESSID and 64/128/152 bit WEP encryption, WA540G also supports advanced security features such as MAC access control, IEEE802.1x authentication, TKIP and hidden ESSID.

Compliant to both IEEE802.11g and IEEE 802.11b standards, WA540G works flawlessly with wireless devices equipped with wireless adapters such as ConnectGear's WE340G (802.11g Cardbus PC Card), WE320 (802.11b Cardbus PC Card), WP440G (802.11g PCI adapter), WP420 (802.11b PCI adapter) and WU220 (USB Wireless adapter).  WA540G offers long distance range of operation, and provides seamless roaming throughout your wireless LAN infrastructure. WA540G is easy to install and configure using Web based configuration.
